Ex-Carlisle United and Accrington Stanley man poised to sign Port Vale deal

Luke joyce is set to sign a new contract with port vale, as per a report by stoke on trent live. 

The midfielder is expected to put pen-to-paper on an extension with the League Two side soon.

Joyce, who is 32 years old, has been a key player for Port Vale over the past two seasons and has made 85 appearances in all competitions since his move in 2018.

John Askey’s side announced their retained list last week and have also offered new deals to striker Mark Cullen and Shaun Brisley as they look ahead to next season.

Tying Joyce down on a new contract will be a boost for the Valiants as he adds more experience and depth into their ranks.

Joyce has racked up over 550 appearances in his career to date and seems to have found a home at Vale Park.

He started out with spells as a youngster at Bolton Wanderers and Wigan Athletic before joining Carlisle United in 2006. He spent thee years in Cumbria and also had loan spells away at Northwich Victoria and Barrow.

Joyce then joined Accrington Stanley in 2009 and spent six years with the North-West side before eventually re-joining Carlisle.

He stayed for three seasons in the fourth tier back at Brunton Park but turned down a new deal at the end of the 2017/18 season.

The midfielder subsequently signed for Port Vale and has been a key player for them ever since. He will now be gearing up for his third season at the club once his contract is sorted.
