Peterborough United man joins League Two side on trial – two more clubs said keen

The News and Star has revealed that Peterborough United attacker Isaac Buckley-Ricketts has joined League Two side Carlisle United after he was placed on the transfer list by Darren Ferguson.

Former Manchester City youngster Isaac Buckley-Ricketts was one of many players to make a move to Peterborough United under the management of Steve Evans last summer and was one of the few who hardly got a look in.

Over the course of last season, Buckley-Ricketts played just two games across all competitions, making no appearances for the club in League One. Now, he looks set to make a move away from London Road after Darren Ferguson opted to place him on the transfer list at the end of the season.

But, the young winger could be set to find a new club soon, having joined League Two side Carlisle United on trial, linking up with Steven Pressley’s squad this week.

A deal may not take too long to be completed, either. Posh director of football Barry Fry has to the Peterborough Telegraph (as cited by the News and Star) that they would not be demanding a fee for the 21-year-old, allowing him to make a move away on a free transfer. However, Carlisle could face a battle for his signature, with two other sides said keen.

League One side Southend United and League Two outfit Colchester United have also been credited with interest in Buckley-Ricketts this summer. It will be interesting to see how the winger fares during his time with Carlisle, and if Southend or Colchester make a move to try and bring him in ahead of the new season.
