Aston Villa hotshot poised to join Carlisle United on loan

Young Aston Villa striker Callum O’Hare is expected to complete a move to Sky Bet League Two club Carlisle United within the next 48 hours according to Pete O’Rourke of Football Insider.

The 20-year-old Solihull-born frontman has long been expected to leave Villa on loan to gain some first team playing experience.

According to the latest reports, O’Hare will join Sky Bet League Two promotion chasers Carlisle United this weekend on a loan deal which is expected to run until the end of the current campaign.

O’Hare has made just a single first team appearance for Villa this season and the player is thought to have been wanted by several clubs from the third and fourth tiers of the English game. It seems that it is Carlisle United boss Steven Pressley who is closest to striking a deal for the highly-rated youngster with the player possibly set to link-up with The Cumbrians for training at the start of next week.

Since breaking through the Aston Villa academy system, O’Hare has gone on to make nine senior appearances for the club. He is yet to make a start for Villa in the league and a loan move away from Villa Park should allow the player to experience the hustle and bustle of competitive league football.

O’Hare’s potential new club Carlisle United are currently occupying fourth place in the Sky Bet League Two table and look strong candidates for automatic promotion.
